THE CRYSTAL SAGA
8 April 2016
The Crystal Saga shows still-life Images of sugar-based crystals that were assembled in a complex procedure and then placed into different approaches of landscapes.
The iritating relationship of scale and room are creating a distorted, or tumblresque situation, that is decipherd by the visuality of the production and the material.
Fingerprints on the structure, the wire holding the object or drops of sugar dissolving due to humidity, are releaving the texture and scale of what appears to be an ice crystal.
The title of the series gives a hint to a possible narrative concept as well as a reference to the illustration of Jean Giraud (Moebius) and his magic crystals in landscapes.
